Our Story

Dollar Universe LLC was founded in November 2023, headquartered at 3035A White Plains Road, Bronx, NY.   From the start, the vision was simple but powerful: offer value and excitement to shoppers who love discovering something unexpected.

Leadership

Luis M. Almonte is the driving force behind Dollar Universe. Not only is he the founder, but he also serves as the manager and creative architect of the store’s signature experience. 

What Makes Us Different

At Dollar Universe, we don’t just sell products — we curate experiences. A significant part of our appeal is our “mystery package” concept: we purchase liquidation pallets from major retailers (such as Amazon and Walmart) and resell those mystery items in-store. Each package costs around $4, and customers never quite know what they’ll find — it could be electronics, home goods, or something unexpectedly useful. 

This concept has brought us viral attention. Social media posts and news coverage feature the thrill customers feel as they guess what’s inside the packages — and many say that sense of discovery keeps them coming back.
